A continuation of this post, Bofur telling his daughter a nonsense story about a troll who thinks he’s a prince and attacks ~~windmills~~ dragons for the hand of a fair maiden (Who’s really the farthest thing from “fair” and is certainly not a “maiden”). The troll has long since ditched his old nag and now has for a mount an old warg that can barely support his weight but still they valiantly trudge on for romance and chivalry—and also for a bit of laughter before bedtime. (Or well, until Bilbo tells them to knock it off and get to bed)

Nah jk just gonna request it:

Bilbo and Bofur’s kid(s) ((Don’t ask me how they have them, can be dwobbits or adopted Frodo)) ask for a story and they get not just any story but the biggest “big fish” tale that Bofur could cook up possible. Basically I’m requesting a fic where Bofur tells the best story (to rule all stories) — it can be happy, it can be sad, it can be utter nonsense.

Bonus points if you try to get it to sound like a courtly romance that veers off into Don Quixote proportions of crazy.

Honestly though, just roll with it; I like the idea of Bofur as a less-than-perfect story-teller e n e;; And I can’t get the image of him surrounded by babies as he narrates asdjasopdsda

I also know happiness-in-a-hat went that route with a very sweet fic of hers, but I think we need more

QAQ Please we always need more Boffins; I’ll draw for it too!

Millenium Apocalypse Dragon Smaug: He’s… uh, well, a space dragon. He spends most of his time hibernating on a comet, but every thousand years that comet passes through Arda’s orbit - and Smaug wakes to feed. Obviously nobody’s around anymore who remembers the last time the Millenium Apocalypse Dragon landed, so we don’t know a lot about him. The way you hear it told, he’s just a mindless beast, but there may be more to it…

Khazad Rangers: In time out of mind, the ancient dwarven Kingdom of Erebor developed technology to heights even the modern world cannot surpass. But, it was destroyed the last time the Millenium Apocalypse Dragon Smaug passed through Arda’s orbit. The dwarves could have fought the beast off - if their jealous allies, the elves of Greenwood, hadn’t abandoned them on the field of combat. But they did. The Prince of Erebor and the Knights Under the Mountain fought bravely, but were annihilated, and the dwarven kingdom faded from all memory - until, almost a thousand years later, the Prince and Knights Under the Mountain were reborn as average high school students. Well, mostly average. The reborn Prince, Thorin Thrainson, happens to be the heir of a powerful but ruined zaibatsu that is heavily involved with the local yakuza. By day, Thorin Thrainson and his friends and cousins dominate the kendo team of Midgard Municipal High School, and have a bitter rivalry with the kyuudo team. By night they are the Khazad Rangers, masked and armored vigilantes and upholders of justice. They support industry and the common worker.

Sindar Scouts: These are the very same jealous elves of Greenwood, reborn as the prim and saucy kyuudo team at Midgard Municipal High School. Beautiful, debonair, and high-class, they have their own groupies, stalker paparazzi, and fanclub - and the fanclub is very zealous about seeing that their rules concerning the way the kyuudo team is treating are followed. By everyone in school, in the fanclub or not. Obviously this doesn’t go over well with the kendo team, and (re)sparks a bitter rivalry between the two factions. Their antagonism has a secret identity, too - the Sindar Scouts, another group of honorable vigilantes, but with very different political affiliations than the Khazad Rangers. The Sindar Scouts favor ecology and the arts, and are unapologetically classist about it. If you can’t afford grace or elegance, get out!

Took Adventurers: A family tradition of masked mischief and merriment, passed down through the ages. They need no purpose other than the fun of stirring things up, but often get involved in the great Events of their time anyway. While they always fight for good (and good humor), they’re professional wildcards and love breaking rules. They’re unfailingly polite about it, though - dashing bandits who always leave a calling card.
